Olympic Update

GOLD! Canadian ice dancers, Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue added to Canada's medal count last night, winning gold after an incredible final skate that put them a whopping seven points in front of their American friends and competitors. Moir and Virtue scored the second highest point total in the history of the sport after completing three dances, which led to Canada's first ever gold medal in ice dancing.

The Canadian women's hockey team shutout Finland 5-0 yesterday, and now advance to the gold medal game against their American rivals. It should be a very competitive game, as these two teams have clashed for the gold in the past. The gold medal game takes place at 6:30pm EST on Thursday.

In men's hockey, team Canada plays a qualifying game against Germany at 7:30pm EST tonight. It is a big game for Canada, as they need to win this one if they hope to compete for the gold medal. Roberto Luongo will get the call in net tonight, after shuting out Norway in Canada's first game of the tournament.

Other qualifying games to keep an eye on today/tonight: Switzerland vs. Belarus at 3:00pm EST, Czech Republic vs. Latvia at 10:00pm EST, and Slovakia vs. Norway at 12:00pm EST. This makes for a very exciting and important day in men's hockey.
