It's been 49 years in the making, but the Stanley Cup has finally made its way back to the Windy City. In amazing fashion, the Chicago Blackhawks came back in overtime on a goal that nobody but its scorer saw go in. Patrick Kane put a low shot on net, that inched past Leighton and into the net. There was a moment of shock, as Kane rushed down the ice jumping with his hands in the air. Once his teammates got the final word that it was a good goal, it was jubilation for the Hawks players, coaches, management, and fans.
Young Blackhawks captain, Jonathan Toews, won the Conn Smythe trophy as the best player in the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Marion Hossa, playing in his third straight Stanley Cup final, with three different teams, was finally on the winning side, capturing his first Stanley Cup. John Madden also won his third Stanley Cup tonight. An amazing feat for the veteran forward.
