The Toronto Sun has reported that the agent of Garnet Exelby has also been given permission, by Leafs GM Brian Burke, to explore trade options. Exelby is in his first season with the leafs, after coming from the Atlanta Thrashers as part of the Paval Kubina trade.
Exelby is well known around the league for his toughness. However, it remains to be seen if there is any market for the scrappy defensemen. This news comes a day after the same request was granted to Jamal Mayers and his agent. We can now add yet another Maple Leaf to the list of possible trade candidates. More to follow.
